Early Childhood Parenting Classes

Last modified 2007-08-22 15:06

A child-rearing class for parents of children ages 5 and under.

Families don't just happen.

A seven-week course held every fall, winter and spring will help parents use new information and skills to calm their toddlers' tantrums, prepare for toilet training and avoid bedtime struggles. Families will learn how to help their young children from the start and build positive relationships that will last through the teen years.

Parents of children ages 5 and under will use new techniques that improve communication and promote mutual respect. Topics covered in readings and videos will include childhood behavior, self-esteem and discipline.

The cost is $15 for the course, called "Early Childhood Systematic Training for Effective Parenting." The classes are coordinated by Ohio State University Extension, Medina County.
