    Government Academy is an all-day workshop offered through the OSU Extension Medina County and Leadership Medina County for individuals interested in learning about the mechanics and philosophies that impact government action. Workshops are taught by experts and faculty from The Ohio State University, local attorneys, elected officials and subject matter experts. Those encouraged to attend are Elected Officials, Board Members, School & Non-profit Trustees, Lawyers, Healthcare Providers, Government Partners, and interested citizens.

You must attend virtually via zoom on the time and date of the event as no recordings will be available.

    Learn why some have called mindfulness a “superpower”! Along with topics like healthy eating and exercise, mindfulness is gaining recognition as an important part of healthy lifestyle. OSU Extension offers an overview on the science behind the art of mindfulness. We encourage you to practice mindfulness to decrease stress and increase enjoyment in your life.     Imagine a life where you're completely satisfied and in tune with your career - you're doing work that you love, have adequate support from your supervisor(s), and have achieved the elusive "work/life" balance.  Career wellness is defined as engaging in work that is consistent with your values and goals, while also providing you personal fulfillment. This workshop will discuss the basics of career wellness, and how to achieve it in your daily life. You will learn strategies for creating balance, staving off burnout, and building a career that supports the life you want to live.

    Renew your pesticide license for 2022!   Attending the 2022 Pesticide and Fertilizer License renewal will earn you 3 hours of continuing education credits towards the renewal of your pesticide license, and 1 hour of fertilizer recertification credit.   12:00 - 1:00 PM (Fertilizer Portion) 1:00 - 4:00 PM (Pesticide Portion, CORE and categories 1-6)   This will be an IN-PERSON workshop, pending any changes made by OSU or the local health department.  We request you wear masks while indoors or when actively eating or drinking.

    What does physical wellness mean to you? Do you struggle to find a time for physical activity in your busy schedule? Join us to take a deeper look into physical wellness. This presentation will discuss what it means to have physical wellness, why it is so important, and how you can incorporate it into your lifestyle.  We will talk about the benefits and challenges of physical wellness. During our presentation we will have a physical activity break, we encourage you (if possible) to find a space where you will be able to move around to participate (no worries, we won’t get too sweaty).
