Medina County Extension will again be offering Master Gardener Volunteer Training for 2023.
Individuals interested in joining the Master Gardener Volunteers can apply for the course by creating an account and filling out the application found here:
Deadline to apply is June 12th.
After applying, you will be contacted about next steps after the deadline passes. You must complete an interview and background check in order to become a volunteer for Ohio State University. Cost is $250 per person for 12 weeks of hands-on focused training.
Classes will be held beginning August 12-November 2, 2023. Thursday nights from 6-9pm and 2 saturdays TBD.
The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program provides intensive training in horticulture to interested Ohio residents, who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for Ohio residents through their local OSU Extension county office. Volunteers are not required to have gardening skills or knowledge; but a passion for learning about gardening and sharing this knowledge with others is a must!
Working with county Extension personnel, Master Gardener Volunteers provide such educational services to their communities as: answering gardening questions from the public; conducting plant clinics; gardening activities with children, senior citizens, or persons with disabilities; and developing community or demonstration gardens.
More information about state-level Master Gardener Volunteer programs and activities is available at http://mastergardener.osu.edu.
You can apply to be a volunteer online using our new volunteer management system to fill out the application. Training is held every OTHER year in Medina. We will train in ODD Years beginning in 2023 forward. (2023, 2025, etc)
