Food Preservation:

We offer classes on the basics of Food Preservation and canning soups/stews, fruits, vegetables, and more! It will be posted here if there is currently a class scheduled. If you are interested in these classes and don't see a date listed, call our office at 330-725-4911. 

Join the OSU Food Preservation team for Tuesday office hour sessions from 4:00-5:00pm.  Sessions will start with a short presentation and the remainder of time will be for open Q&A.  The presentations will be recorded and posted for those who could not attend live. Testing your Pressure Canner Gauge:

If you have a dial gauge on your canner, it is recommended that you get it tested once a year. We can do this for you at our Medina office! 

If you would like this $5 service, follow the steps below:

  • Call or email FCS Educator, Erin Ruggiero at to schedule a time. 
  • Bring your pressure canner lid with dial gauge to our office for testing. 

You can either wait for it to be tested or receive a call when it is done. 

Cost:  $5.00 at time of pickup.
